When he came back from the dead, so to speak... Casey had a list. He had to reconnect with people who knew him, and go about reconnecting with them. He'd already reacquainted himself with Summer, and for now he stopped in Sootopolis, under the impression that he could knock out two birds with one stone here.

Casey wore little bike shorts, runners, and a white tee. He had with him a little black dog, not on a leash of any kind. He ran circles around Casey, who was still a little anxious about navigating all these hills and stairs after what happened. He had a gym bag over one shoulder, and headed into the nearest gym.

Putting away his dog for now, he took all his jewelry off and deposited the ten rings in the bag. He then threw it down, and grabbed two flat plates, of the sort that belonged on a barbell. Seeing someone out of the corner of his eye, he turned his head and smiled at them. “…Hey!”

He pushed the plates together infront of his chest, sandwiching them between his hands. Casey moved his arms back and forth like this, opening up his chest, biceps, and shoulders. A minute passed before he finished his set, and he lowered his arms. He wouldn't rack the weights yet, but instead let them hang there and pull on his shoulders more. "Michail, right? Your dad used to make you play with me when he had to talk to my dad. I always thought you were cool though."

Glossing over years of his father being the auditor for Fallarbor. Being on the take for Team Rocket and looking the other way every now and then. What mattered now was that face he hadn't seen in years. Casey's eyes widened.

[attr="class","textbox"] the sootopolis gym did not have as adequate a facility as they did on the rocket sub, but it was a convenient location for where he lived. jayden found that he frequented it more days than not, especially since it minimalized the travel that he needed to accomplish while still allowing him to complete his physical requirements.

[break][break] he struck a deal with the owner to allow him to complete his activities during the hours of daybreak or the dead of the night, as to not be disturbed by anyone that he did not want to be in contact with. that being said, sometimes his work schedule did not always comply. especially these days, since his hours were finnicky due to his rising position in rocket. the board was flexible in what they required of him in the transition period — still, it was arduous.

[break][break] he pushed his way through the double doors of the facility, hoping that it would not be too packed. if it was, perhaps he would ask mint frost if his gym was available for use. at the very least, today he had someone to accompany him. a someone that he hadn't been expecting to see.

[break][break] "cool?" he asks, a bemused look on his face. "i suppose you are cool too, casey."

[break][break] he grabbed two plates as well off the rack, mimicking the other's task. his muscles groaned with relief as he began the exercises — it felt good.

Sweat pooled around his face. Casey moved to rack the weights, and they slid onto the bars with ease. He raised a hand to cup some of the sweat, and used it to slick back his scarlet hair, so it'd behave for once.

He then grabbed a wide kettle-bell with a big base, and slowly eased it off the rack. Casey walked over to where Michail sat, and sat on the bench across from him, with it resting at his feet. That subtle joy, why that was the quiet guy he knew so well! His eyes lit up! "How have you been, man? It's been a minute."

He picked up the weight, holding it over his sternum as if he were about to cave his chest in. Casey braced his core, making a flat tummy and obliques you could juice a lemon with pop out. He parted his feet and did a series of Goblet Squats as they were called.

He started to gain momentum, using his thighs to throw the weight up and down as hard as he could. Sweat continued to pool over his brows, and he smiled. His arms did little but hold the triangular weight in place, but they'd been warmed up already. He finished his set at last, slowly lowering the weight to his feet and sitting on the bench again.

Weirdly intense as always, he couldn't wait for a question like this. "Not at this location specifically... Me and my girlfriend are moving to Mossdeep. But I was in town for something. And you can train anywhere. All it is is metal. There's no perspective. Either you can lift it, or you learn about yourself and start smaller."

Not that he meant to challenge him, or anything. Far from it. He just thought that this was the warrior's bond between lifters. Still regaining his composure, Casey opened up a question to him. "Do you come here often? Is this your spot?"

[break][break] "well," he says in response to the other's question. to be perfectly candid, jayden was never quite sure how to answer questions like this. or how much information that he ought to divulge. it seemed like a silly question, to ask how one was when things could change in a heartbeat... then again, he had found himself asking such questions to others on more than one occasion.

[break][break] he was glad, then, that Casey Fincher filled the space with his words.

[break][break] "ah. your girlfriend?" it's not of any particular interest to jayden, but additional intel was always useful. you never knew when such a topic might prove assistance in other areas. "that is correct," he says with a nod of agreement and approval. "there have been times where no gym was in sight so i had to be a little creative with my training regimen." such a thing happened often in kanto, back when there had been cities made only of flames and burnt ash.

[break][break] "my spot? well," he hums, considering the question. "yes and no. it is conveniently close to my home, but i'm not bound to it — no. it is nice to see you here though." he flashes a cordial smile, before standing and going to return the weights to the rack.

[break][break] "you said you're moving to mossdeep? he asks, as he twists to do a few stretches. his body is a bit sore from the efforts of last night's mission, so stretching it out would do some good. "i held a part-time job in mossdeep once. have you been to their starboks on main street?"
